AVEVENA RDCongo is a non-profit organization founded in April 2002 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It began its work in Uvira Territory, South Kivu. The organization supports vulnerable children, including malnourished, unaccompanied, refugee, displaced children, and former child soldiers. AVEVENA RDCongo also carries out social development projects and peace-building activities in conflict-affected communities. Its work has been supported by partners such as CARITAS Development Uvira, ICRC, Save the Children UK, and UNHCR. One of its first actions was opening a transit center for unaccompanied children, helping hundreds of children receive protection and reunite with their families.
